Vancouver's hotel inventory is tighter than it looks. For FIFA World Cup 2026 dates (June 13 – July 7), the downtown core is essentially sold out at most luxury properties — and prices have doubled or tripled. This is where insiders are actually staying.
The Luxury Hotels Still Available
Fairmont Pacific Rim, Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, Rosewood Hotel Georgia, Shangri-La Vancouver and the Wedgewood remain the top-tier hotels. Most ran 18-month lead-time bookings for World Cup dates. As of early 2026, suite-level rooms can still be sourced through hotel travel desks, GDS partners and concierge services with established corporate accounts.
Private Rentals: Penthouses, Townhouses and Estates
Where hotels run out, private rentals take over. Coal Harbour and Yaletown penthouses (3- to 5-bedroom, often with concierge and private chef) run $3,000 to $15,000 per night during the World Cup. West Vancouver and West Point Grey deliver larger estates with pools, gardens and ocean views for groups of 8 to 20.
The catch: legitimate licensed short-term rentals are limited in Vancouver, and many listings are illegal sublets that risk cancellation. Work only with vetted operators who handle the city's short-term rental compliance.
The Whistler Option
For groups willing to commute 90 minutes, Whistler offers chalets, ski-in/ski-out luxury units and the Four Seasons. Match-day shuttles can be arranged. The Sea-to-Sky drive is one of North America's most beautiful — turning the commute into a pre-game experience itself.
Where you stay during World Cup 2026 sets the tempo for everything else. Lock in early, work with operators who can guarantee compliance and concierge, and the city opens up around you.
