Vancouver's private members clubs are smaller in scale than London or New York's — but the level of access they provide inside the city's tight social network is significant. These are the clubs that run Vancouver.
The Traditional Society Clubs
The Vancouver Club (downtown, founded 1893) is the city's senior business club — power lunches, corporate event space, and a strict dress code. The Terminal City Club is the more relaxed business-and-social alternative with one of the city's better indoor pools. The Pacific Club is the West End private dining and member club tied to the Bayshore.
The New Wave
Soho House Vancouver is opening in 2026 — the most anticipated private members club opening in the city's history. Expect the standard Soho House model: members-only floors, restaurants, rooftop pool, work spaces and event programming.
Sports and Country Clubs
Capilano Golf and Country Club (West Vancouver) and Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club are the two most exclusive golf clubs. The Hollyburn Country Club covers tennis, squash and curling. The Royal Vancouver Yacht Club is the establishment yacht club with junior and senior memberships.
Vancouver's club scene is selective but not impenetrable — most clubs accept new members through introductions from existing ones. For visitors, several clubs offer reciprocal privileges with international clubs and short-term guest passes through concierge partnerships.
